This morning, we had the honor and joy of being received by Pope Leo XIV and, on the occasion of his birthday on September 14, of bringing him a few gifts that tell the story of who we are, our family, and the land we belong to.
We chose to do so through some of the most authentic symbols of our history: a Delizia al Limone cake, specially prepared for the Holy Father, the wonderfully fragrant lemons from Villa Paradiso, and the book dedicated to 200 years of Pansa, which tells the entire story of our family’s tradition as artisan pastry makers, from its origins to the present day.
Entering the Vatican carrying with us the flavors and scents of Amalfi was an incredibly moving experience, just as it was when his predecessor, Pope Francis, welcomed us to the Vatican. On that occasion too, for his birthday, we had the honor of presenting him with one of our cakes.
Returning to the Vatican, this time together with our families, meant writing a new page in our story—one that continues to surprise us and fill us with pride.
Today, we reached another truly extraordinary milestone for our family and our profession. A milestone that fills our hearts with joy and inspires us to keep moving forward, carrying our Amalfi with us out into the world.
